Ellie came back later that evening, completely exhausted. She would have gone straight to her flat, but she figured she would never have made it back if she had.

I had awoken from my nap a few hours after I had fallen asleep. I sat typing on my computer and scribbling notes my glasses on my nose...this book...I was so close.

Ellie knocked on the door and waited for Brian to answer.

I got up and opened the door. "Hey Ellie" I smile and let her in kissing her hello.

"Hello!" Ellie replied and kissed him back. "You done with that book yet?" she asked.

"A few more chapters and I'll have finished the plot but I still have to write out the ending." I smile taking my glasses off and rubbing my tired eyes. "Are you hungry?" I asked wandering into the kitchen.

"Twinkies and coffee?" I tease. I start rummaging in the fridge.

Ellie rolled her eyes. "How about something that will actually fill me up?"

"Relax, I was kidding" I grin at her pulling out ingredients and a recipe book.

"I'm perfectly aware of that," Ellie said with a sly smile. "You planning on baking something?" She asked with a light chuckle.

I shrug. "Being shut up in this flat with only a half written book to keep you company really improves your cooking skills." I said and started a pot of rice.

"Okay" I smile and pull a chair out for her to sit down. "Anything to drink?"

Ellie sat down in the chair he offered. "Water," she said, feeling the weariness getting to her.

I nodded and got her a glass of water and finished cooking seeing as it was a fairly easy recipe.

"You know, you make me feel bad, letting you cook for me all the time. But how can I say no?" Ellie smiled slightly.

I laughed lightly. "One because I love you, and two because my cooking skills were better then they have been in the past" I said setting a plate in front of her. I fixed a plate for myself and sat across from her.
