"Well yeah, but a quilt tends to be the best," Ellie said, looking in one of the closets. "Aha! Here it is!" She pulled it out and some other box that was on top of it fell. "Oops."

I picked up the contents of the box and smile.

Ellie helped him put all the things back and placed the box back up on the top shelf. "Now we can go."

"Okay" I said taking the basket. "To the park?" I asked walking out the door.

I sat at my computer stuck as how to end one of the few ending chapters for my book.

Ellie's nerves welled up inside of her more and more as she traveled home. How could she break the news to Brian? Could she casually just like bring it up and ease him into it, or would she just have to dump it on him? When she finally made it back to the apartment, which had seemed like an eternity to get to, she walked in to find Brian sitting there, typing away on his laptop as usual.

"Brian?" Ellie asked with a slight quiver in her voice.

I looked up. "Oh Hi Ellie" I said and smile. "How was work."

"Uh it was fine... I guess," Ellie said, trying to stay calm. "Uh, Brian, I need to talk to you about something..." She was still trying to sort through in her mind how she could break the news... Even though she wasn't sure yet.

"I think... I don't know... but I think... I might be... pregnant," Ellie said slowly, the words practically chocking in her throat.

I look at her. "I um what?" I asked letting the words sink in I run my fingers through my hair. "Are-are you sure?" I asked.

"I don't know, okay," Ellie said, trying not to be too stressed out. "But the symptoms are there and I missed my cycle..."

Ellie looked down, wishing he would say more. "I'll just go... pee on a stick," she said, trying to make it at least a little more lighthearted.
