Rose continued sleeping as one of the nurses came in and tapped Parker on the soldier. "Sir."

I wake up from my dose. "Hmm what?" I asked sitting up sleepily.

"Sir, I'm really sorry." She whispered. "But your daughter didn't make it. She was just too small. There was nothing we could do."

I nodded slowly. "I thought she might not....will the doctor tell Rose?" I asked trying to keep it together.

"The doctor could if you prefered, but we thought we would give you the chance to tell her yourself." She said sympathetically.

I nodded softly. "Can...I see her please hold her...just once." I said tearing up a bit.

The nurse nodded. "Just a moment." She left the room.

I stood up and kissed rose's forehead. I paced the floor waiting for the nurse to come back with Jenna...my baby....

The nurse came back with the body and another nurse. "You can only have a couple of minutes."

"Okay thanks..." I said softly not looking at either of them and took the small....so small body that was wrapped in the pink blanket from them gently.

I just looked at her...you could tell that she was underdeveloped....I wonder what went wrong..what we did wrong...I looked over at rose to make sure she was still sleeping.

Rose continued sleeping soundly. The nurses came back in. "We need to take the baby back, sir. I'm sorry."

I shook my head and backed away.

The sight broke the nurse's heart. "Please sir." She said quietly. "It's time to let go."

I resisted the urge to take her back. "I...lets see what rose wants.." I sunk back in my chair.

I slowly stood up again and touched rose lightly. "Rose..." I whispered softly.
