Topher put the cookies in the oven when the oven's timer beeped. He turned to Payton. "What are we going to do now?"

Topher grinned and picked her up bridal-style and took her over to the couch. He sat down. "I thought this would be more comfortable."

I laughed when he carried me over. "Well this is more comfortable" I said now in his lap with his arms around me.

Topher laughed. "I didn't like many of the people there because my heart currently belongs to someone else." He winked.

I smiled softly and cuddled close to him. The smell of cookies was wafting through the kitchen and to the couch.
